What is Magnesium Salicylate

Magnesium salicylate is an oral salicylic acid derivative. It is used for the control of pain and as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Magnesium salicylate is a sodium-free, non-acetylated salicylate. It has a low incidence of GI side effects and does not have a clinically significant effect on platelet function.

Special care should be used in patients with renal disease due to the magnesium content.

Magnesium salicylate products have been available prior to the formation of the FDA in 1938.
