Capmatinib

Capmatinib Brand Name– TABRECTA

What is Capmatinib

Capmatinib is a kinase inhibitor targeting mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET), including the mutant variant produced by exon 14 skipping.

It is indicated for the treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients whose tumors have a mutation that leads to MET exon 14 skipping as detected by an FDA-approved test.

Capmatinib has caused pneumonitis and hepatotoxicity in clinical trials; monitor patients for these adverse reactions as an interruption of therapy, dose reduction, or discontinuation of therapy may be necessary.

Capmatinib may also cause photosensitivity; it is advised that patients limit exposure to ultraviolet light and wear sunscreen or protective clothing during treatment.
