What is Acetaminophen Caffeine Dihydrocodeine

Acetaminophen Caffeine Dihydrocodeine are used together in oral preparations to treat moderate to severe pain.

Acetaminophen is a non-salicylate analgesic, while dihydrocodeine is an opioid analgesic.

The combination of acetaminophen and dihydrocodeine produces a greater analgesic effect than that produced by acetaminophen alone.

Caffeine may augment the analgesic effect and produce fewer adverse reactions than caffeine alone or higher opioid doses, respectively. Use opioid-containing analgesics with caution due to concerns for respiratory depression, substance abuse, and the potential for overdose or poisoning.

Acetaminophen; caffeine; dihydrocodeine is a short-acting combination product and is not indicated for the management of chronic, persistent pain.

Acetaminophen Caffeine Dihydrocodeine was FDA-approved in August 1997.
