Thiothixene

What is Thiothixene

Thiothixene is an antipsychotic drug that is structurally similar to trifluoperazine and shares some of the pharmacological properties of the high-potency antipsychotics.

It is used in the treatment of psychotic disorders and schizophrenia.

Five milligrams of thiothixene is equivalent to 100 mg of chlorpromazine, the prototype antipsychotic. Thiothixene was approved by the FDA in 1967.
