What is Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate
NOTE: This drug is discontinued in the U.S.
Ranitidine bismuth citrate was a salt complex of ranitidine and bismuth citrate. It was used in combination with clarithromycin to treat patients with active duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.
The drug was not recommended as a single agent for treating active duodenal ulcer.
Indications
- duodenal ulcer
- Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication
For Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication in combination with clarithromycin for the treatment of active duodenal ulcer
