What is Abacavir Lamivudine 3TC

Abacavir Lamivudine 3TC is a combination of two nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

Double NRTI therapy is not considered highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART); thus, it must be used in combination with other antiretroviral agents.

Epzicom received FDA-approval in August 2004; it was approved in pediatric patients weighing 25 kg or more in September 2015.
