Older studies reported a 5% to 15% overall incidence of amyloidosis in RA, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). With the new therapies available for these diseases, the frequency of systemic AA amyloidosis is much less today (<1%).
