What are prolactinomas? 

Prolactin producing pituitary adenomas (prolactinomas) are benign tumors of the pituitary gland that produce prolactin.

Are they common?

Prolactinomas are most common in women under the age of 50.

How are they treated?

Dopamine agonists such as bromocriptine and cabergoline are used to treat them.
