What is Solriamfetol
Solriamfetol is a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor approved to improve wakefulness in adults with excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea.
In patients with obstructive sleep apnea, the underlying airway obstruction should be treated (e.g., with CPAP) for at least 1 month prior to initiating solriamfetol.
Increases in blood pressure, heart rate, and the development or worsening of psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, and irritability are possible during solriamfetol use. Blood pressure and heart rate should be assessed before initiating treatment with solriamfetol and throughout treatment with the drug.
