Flurazepam

Flurazepam Brand Name– Dalmane

What is Flurazepam

Flurazepam is an oral benzodiazepine used as a hypnotic agent in the short-term management of insomnia.

Prolonged use is less likely to cause rebound insomnia and tolerance to the hypnotic effect than are benzodiazepines with a shorter half-life (e.g., triazolam, oxazepam); however, flurazepam is more likely to cause residual daytime CNS-depressant effects.

Flurazepam was approved by the FDA in 1970.
