Brompheniramine Dextromethorphan Guaifenesin

Brompheniramine Dextromethorphan Guaifenesin Brand Name– Tusnel

What is Brompheniramine Dextromethorphan Guaifenesin

Brompheniramine dextromethorphan guaifenesin are used together in oral preparations to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, the common cold or other minor throat or bronchial irritants.

These symptoms include cough, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and watery eyes. Brompheniramine is a first-generation sedating antihistamine (H1-blocker) of the propylamine class. It dries the nasal and sinus passages secondary to its anticholinergic activity.

Dextromethorphan is a centrally acting cough suppressant.

Guaifenesin loosens and thins phlegm and bronchial secretions to ease expectoration.

Although guaifenesin may be used as an expectorant in both productive and non-productive coughs, it is especially useful in the treatment of dry, non-productive coughs which tend to injure the respiratory mucous membranes.
