Which patients are most typically affected by TA?
Takayasu Arteritis occurs most frequently in young women (8:1 female > male), at a median age of 25 years. Up to 25% of cases occur before the age of 20 years and 15% after the age of 40 years. TA occurs most commonly in Asian (Japan, China, India, Southeast Asia) women but has been reported worldwide in all racial groups.
