What are the two most common types of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor?
Insulinoma is the most common type, which is most often <2 cm in size, solitary, and benign in biologic behavior.
Gastrinoma is the second most common type, which is usually malignant in biologic behavior and most often located in the “gastrinoma triangle” (located between the junction of the pancreatic neck and body medially, the junction of the cystic and common bile ducts superiorly, and the junction of the second and third portions of the duodenum inferiorly).
