How often does multiple sclerosis present in children? 

Approximately 3% to 5% of all patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) have onset of symptoms in childhood.

The majority of affected children (more than 90%) are older than 10 years of age, but MS cases have been described in patients younger than 3 years of age.
