What are the the features of uremic neuropathy?
Uremic neuropathy appears as a symmetric distal sensorimotor axonal neuropathy and is almost invariably present in patients by the time they require dialysis.
Other conditions that predispose to renal failure (e.g., diabetes and vasculitis) may also produce neuropathy, and thus symptoms can result from several different etiologies.
Uremic neuropathy is at least partially reversible by repeated dialysis or by kidney transplantation.
