congenital abnormality of the penis is associated with bladder exstrophy

What congenital abnormality of the penis is associated with bladder exstrophy?

Epispadias is a rare congenital abnormality in which there is ectopic location of the urethral meatus along the dorsal aspect of the penis, along with variable degrees of absence of the dorsal covering of the penis. It is highly associated with bladder exstrophy, a congenital anomaly caused by failure of midline closure of the infraumbilical abdominal wall, since closure of the bladder and urethra during development occurs in the craniocaudal direction. In bladder exstrophy, the anterior bladder wall is absent, the pubic symphysis is widened, the edges of the posterior bladder walls are fused to the skin surface, and the bladder is often small and everted upon the open abdominopelvic wall.
