Can lupus nephritis recur following transplantation?
Yes. In transplanted patients with ESKD from lupus nephritis undergoing transplant biopsy for kidney failure, hematuria, or proteinuria, recurrent lupus nephritis can be present but rarely leads to graft loss unless there is concomitant chronic allograft nephropathy.
In addition, based on the larger series, recurrent lupus nephritis does not have an impact on patient survival.
