Talazoparib

What is Talazoparib

Talazoparib is an oral poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor approved for the treatment of adult patients with deleterious or suspected deleterious germline BRCA-mutated (gBRCAm), HER2-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

Treatment with talazoparib significantly improved progression-free survival compared with investigator’s choice of chemotherapy in an open-label clinical trial of patients with gBRCAm, HER2-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer; 44% of patients in this trial had triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC); overall response rate and the duration of response were also improved in the talazoparib arm.

Twenty-five percent or more patients treated with talazoparib develop myelosuppression.

Monitor complete blood counts, as an interruption of therapy or dose reduction may be necessary.
