Sarilumab

What is Sarilumab

Sarilumab is an injectable interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor antagonist. In patients with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, IL-6 concentrations correlate with disease activity and joint or tissue damage.

Sarilumab is used for the treatment of adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to one or more disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).

Sarilumab was FDA approved in May 2017.
