Pazopanib Brand Name– Votrient

What is Pazopanib

Pazopanib (Votrient) is an oral multikinase angiogenesis inhibitor.

It targets the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR)-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3; platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) receptor; fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR)-1 and FGFR-3; cytokine receptor (Kit); interleukin-2 receptor inducible T-cell kinase; leukocyte-specific protein tyrosine kinase; and transmembrane glycoprotein receptor tyrosine kinase.

Pazopanib has been investigated for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma, soft tissue sarcomas, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, as well as other solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

In October 2009, pazopanib received FDA approval for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma.

In April 2012, pazopanib received FDA approval for the treatment of advanced soft-tissue sarcoma in patients who have received prior chemotherapy.
