What is Decitabine
Decitabine is a pyrimidine antimetabolite. It is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with myelodysplastic syndrome.
Severe myelosuppression has been reported with decitabine therapy; monitor complete blood counts during therapy
Indications
- acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)
- chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)
- myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)

NOTE: Decitabine is designated an orphan drug by the FDA for the treatment of MDS.
