What is Altretamine
Altretamine is a synthetic antineoplastic agent effective in the treatment of some ovarian tumors resistant to alkylating agents.
It is an s-triazine derivative and is commercially available as an oral capsule.
Its unique mechanism of action is not related to any other commercially available antineoplastic.
Altretamine is also known as hexamethylmelamine, often abbreviated HMM.
Indications
- ovarian cancer
For the palliative treatment of recurrent or persistent ovarian cancer as a single agent following first-line combination chemotherapy
