Who is more prone to get shingles?
Individuals 60 years and older are more likely to get shingles, but it can occur at any age.
Immunocompromised individuals such as cancer patients, patients with AIDS, and individuals with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis are not only more likely to get it, but they are also at risk for a disseminated form of the infection (multifocal or diffuse eruption of shingles).
