The LCL complex consists of the following from anterior to posterior:

  • • Iliotibial band attaching to the Gerdy’s tubercle of the tibia
  • • Fibular collateral ligament between the lateral femoral condyle and the fibular head
  • • Biceps femoris tendon inserting into the fibular head
