Typical lab finding of Polymyalgia Rheumatica
What is the most characteristic laboratory finding? Is it always present?
An elevated ESR (often >100 mm/hour) and an elevated CRP are the characteristic laboratory findings.
Polymyalgia Rheumatica may occasionally (7%) occur with a normal or only mildly elevated ESR (<40 mm/hour), but in those patients, the CRP is usually elevated.
