Segmental or diffuse smooth wall thickening of the stomach is typically seen. Sometimes, increased mural enhancement, increased mural T2-weighted signal intensity relative to skeletal muscle, a “target” sign, luminal narrowing, ulceration, or perigastric fat stranding may also be seen in the setting of acute gastritis
