Treatments for hepatorenal syndrome (mostly for AKI-HRS) are based on correcting the different aspects of pathophysiology of hepatorenal syndrome.
• Improving the effective arterial blood volume: Volume expanders
• Reducing arterial vasodilatation: Vasoconstrictors
• Eliminating portal hypertension: TIPS shunt
• Correcting liver dysfunction and portal hypertension: Liver transplantation
