What are some assessment and screening tools available specifically for neuropathic pain?
Aside from determining a numeric pain score for severity of pain, there are many validated neuropathic pain assessment tools used to aid in diagnosis and assess response to treatment, including the Neuropathic Pain Questionnaire (NPQ), PainDetect, the Neuropathic Pain Symptom Inventory (NPSI), IDpain, DN4, the Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Pain, and Signs-LANSS. History and physical exam are of course imperative to diagnosis.
