What is posterior tibial tendinitis?

Inflammation of the posterior tibial tendon and its synovial sheath. Pain is located more prominently on the medial side of the ankle. The pain and swelling are localized to the path of the posterior tibial tendon, with increased pain on resisted foot inversion.
