What is the MRI appearance of tendinopathy?

Normal tendons are low in signal intensity on all MR imaging sequences. With chronic degeneration, microscopic tearing, and repair, the tendons become thickened and increased in signal intensity, giving the appearance of tendinosis on MRI.
