What are the major output targets of the cerebellum?
The major output targets are the red nucleus, vestibular nuclei, superior colliculus, reticular formation, and thalamus.
The cerebellum therefore influences motor activity via both cortical and spinal projections.
Fibers leave via the SCP, projecting first to the ventral lateral and ventral intermediate nuclei of the thalamus, then through thalamocortical projections to modify cerebrocortical motor neurons.
Cerebellar projections to the reticulospinal, vestibulospinal, and rubrospinal tracts modify spinal cord alpha and gamma motor neurons.
