What are the two major causes of ADAMTS13 deficiency in TTP?
The first cause is in an inherited form of TTP secondary to homozygous or compound heterozygous mutations in ADAMTS13 gene, hereditary TTP. The second, more common cause is autoantibody to ADAMTS13, acquired TTP.
