Indications for renal and bladder Ultrasound in a child with history of UTI
Renal and bladder Ultrasound is used to detect hydronephrosis and distal ureterectasis secondary to obstruction or VUR, to detect bladder abnormalities (including diverticula or wall thickening secondary to obstruction), and to assess for any renal parenchymal damage that may have been caused by prior infections.
