How is ADTKD treated?
Treatment of patients with ADTKD remains supportive in nature and should include blood pressure control, hydration, avoidance of nephrotoxins, and management of the complications of chronic kidney disease.
In patients with ADTKD-UMOD, allopurinol may be used to control hyperuricemia, although its effectiveness at slowing the progression of kidney disease is uncertain.
