What is the epidemiology of Cogans syndrome?
Only approximately 250 cases have been reported. Mean age of onset is 30 years, although cases in children and the elderly have been reported. Distribution is equal between males and females, and there are no racial differences. An upper respiratory syndrome precedes the onset in many cases, but no definite infectious etiology has been identified.
