What are the complications of angioplasty?
The types and incidence of complications vary with the location and morphology of the lesion. Complications include spasm, flow-limiting dissection, plaque embolization, vessel rupture, access site trauma, renal dysfunction, or allergic reaction to iodinated contrast material, and rarely death.
