  • 1. Bilateral upper motor neuron weakness of the legs (paraparesis, paraplegia) or legs and arms (quadriparesis, quadriplegia)
  • 2. Bilateral impairment of sensation with a “sensory level” that separates a region of normal sensation from a region of impaired sensation
  • 3. Bowel or bladder sphincter dysfunction
