Can the overall size of an aortic aneurysm be determined by catheter angiography?
No. Often there is an extensive mural thrombus in an aneurysm, and a large aneurysm can have a normal-sized lumen. Only the lumen is opacified by catheter angiography, and the outer size of the aneurysm cannot be determined by this method.
