What is Netarsudil and Latanoprost
Netarsudil 0.02%, a Rho kinase inhibitor, is combined with latanoprost 0.005%, a prostaglandin F2alpha analog, in an ophthalmic solution for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
The drug is administered topically once daily in the evening to each affected eye.
The most common adverse reaction reported in clinical studies with netarsudil and latanoprost was conjunctival hyperemia (59%); which resulted in 5% of drug recipients discontinuing therapy.
Latanoprost treatment has been associated with increased pigmentation of the iris, periorbital tissue (eyelid) and eyelashes. Changes in pigmentation of the iris may be irreversible.
