What is Chloroxylenol Glycerin Pramoxine Zinc
Chloroxylenol glycerin pramoxine, zinc otic solutions are used topically in the ear for the treatment of susceptible superficial ear infections of the external auditory canal (otitis externa).
Chloroxylenol is an antiseptic agent; glycerin is a topical skin protectant and penetration enhancer; pramoxine is a topical anesthetic that provides relief of pain and itching; zinc is a mild astringent as well as a protectant that acts as a physical barrier to irritants.
Indications

For the treatment of otitis externa, including the accompanying pain and itching

Hypersensitivity and other adverse reactions to chloroxylenol; pramoxine; zinc otic combinations are rare. Discontinue treatment if signs and symptoms of a local allergic reaction occur.
The following adverse reactions with topical chloroxylenol; glycerin; pramoxine; zinc have been observed: skin irritation (i.e., redness or swelling), pain (i.e., burning or stinging), or dryness (xerosis); avoid use beyond recommended treatment durations.
