In the United States, the most common mental health disorders are the anxiety disorders (including phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and others), with 12-month and lifetime prevalence of about one in five and one in three, respectively.

(Major depressive disorder followed by alcohol dependence are the most common individual disorders.)
