Global Aphasia Symptoms
What are the clinical features of global aphasia and where are the lesions that produce it?
Spontaneous speech is nonfluent, with poor repetition and poor comprehension.
The output is restricted to meaningless speech sounds or stereotypes. These lesions involve Broca’s and Wernicke’s area.
They may be combined cortical–subcortical or purely subcortical.
