Which patients are most likely to have further seizures after their medications have been stopped
Risk factors for recurrence include:
- 1. Prolonged period before seizures were controlled
- 2. Previously high seizure frequency
- 3. Neurologic abnormalities
- 4. Developmental delay
- 5. Complex partial seizures
- 6. Consistently abnormal EEGs (both epileptiform and nonepileptiform abnormalities)
