What type of anesthesia is used for IPNB?
Biopsies in the chest, abdomen, and pelvis can be performed under local anesthesia using 1% lidocaine, often with mild analgesia using fentanyl, and at times with use of conscious sedation such as midazolam hydrochloride. The type of anesthesia used should be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Monitoring of vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, cardiac rhythm, and oxygen saturation is required during such procedures.
