What is a fibroadenoma?
Fibroadenomas are common breast lesions that are composed of stromal and epithelial elements. They are typically diagnosed in young women in their 20s and 30s and present as firm, mobile palpable breast masses. The classic US appearance is a circumscribed oval hypoechoic mass. Fibroadenomas that are larger than 10 cm are called giant fibroadenomas.
