Rare but highly specific symptom of mediastinal teratoma
Expectoration of hair (trichoptysis) or sebum is a rare but pathognomonic sign of ruptured mediastinal teratoma. This presentation is due to secretion of digestive enzymes by intestinal mucosa or pancreatic tissue in the tumor, precipitating rupture into the bronchi.
