Poncets disease
In patients with visceral (usually lymph nodes) or pulmonary TB, an acute symmetric polyarthritis (presumably reactive and immune-mediated) may develop, accompanied by fever.
Tuberculous organisms are not cultured from the involved joints as there is no evidence of active TB in these joints.
While any joint may be involved, knees, ankles, and elbows are most common. Arthritis generally resolves a few weeks after initiation of anti-TB therapy.
