What is Papezs circuit?
Papezs circuit is a route by which the limbic system communicates between the hippocampus, thalamus, hypothalamus, and cortex.
It forms a circuit from the hippocampal formation → fornix → mammillary body → mammillothalamic tract → anterior group of thalamus → cingulate gyrus → cingulate bundle → hippocampus. (Note: the amygdala is not part of the classic Papez circuit.)
