Latest radiologic methods to treat liver cancer
Current radiologic methods of treating hepatic malignancies
Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), transarterial embolization (TAE), selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), percutaneous image-guided chemical ablation, percutaneous image-guided thermal ablation, TACE combined with ablation, and hepatic arterial chemotherapy infusion are the current radiologic methods.
Hepatic arterial chemotherapy infusion has been used for treatment of colorectal cancer metastases to the liver but remains unpopular because of cost, complexity of arterial pump placement, and concerns of liver toxicity.
