Is central diabetes insipidus a manifestation of pituitary insufficiency?
Most patients with anterior pituitary insufficiency do not have concomitant posterior pituitary failure. However, in those in whom central diabetes insipidus is also present, craniopharyngioma, hypophysitis, metastatic cancer, and sarcoidosis should be suspected.
